Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl first against Pakistan in the second T20I at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday 11 October 2026, ESPNcricinfo reported. They trail the three-match series 1-0 and must win to keep it alive, so they have made three changes to the side beaten on Friday.

Three changes for a do-or-die game
Sineth Jayawardena, a top-order batter, comes in alongside allrounder Chamindu Wickramasinghe and left-arm seamer Binura Fernando. Kamil Mishara, Dunith Wellalage and Dushmantha Chameera make way. Chameera is normally Sri Lanka's top seam bowler in this format, but he is just coming back from injury and was expensive on Friday, conceding 40 in his three overs.
Pakistan made only one change. Left-arm fast bowler Salman Mirza replaces right-arm quick Razaullah.
Chasing is the Rawalpindi way
Sri Lanka's decision follows how Friday went. They made 182 for 8, and Pakistan chased it down with 187 for 6 in 18.5 overs, helped by a 92-run stand between Sahibzada Farhan and Maaz Sadaqat. The venue tends to favour chasing sides, and this match is on a fresh pitch.
At the toss, Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis said, as quoted by Cricbuzz, that dew "wasn't a huge factor" and that with five bowling options, bowling first gives Sri Lanka "the best chance today".
- Pakistan: Sahibzada Farhan (capt.), Fakhar Zaman, Maaz Sadaqat, Hasan Nawaz, Saim Ayub, Khawaja Nafay (wk), Shadab Khan, Mohammad Imran, Naseem Shah, Salman Mirza, Abrar Ahmed.
- Sri Lanka: Lahiru Udara, Sineth Jayawardena, Kusal Mendis (capt. & wk), Kamindu Mendis, Sahan Arachchige, Dasun Shanaka, Chamindu Wickramasinghe, Maheesh Theekshana, Eshan Malinga, Binura Fernando, Nuwan Thushara.
