The 19th over

With the Titans on 193 for 4, Laycock dismissed Leus du Plooy first, then Dayyaan Galiem, Aphiwe Mnyanda, Janco Smit and Esosa Aihevba off four successive deliveries. The Titans, who had been cruising, finished on 204 all out.

The records

ESPNcricinfo reports that Laycock is the first bowler to take five wickets in one over in South African T20 cricket, and the first to take four wickets in four consecutive deliveries in a South African T20 match. He is the fourth man, and the first South African, to take five in an over in men's T20 cricket, after Bangladesh's Al-Amin Hossain, India's Abhimanyu Mithun and Indonesia's Gede Priandana.

His 6 for 26 also beats Beuran Hendricks' 6 for 29 from 2014 as the best figures in Pro20 Cup history.

How the innings began

Laycock's first wicket was Lhuan-dre Pretorius, who made 81 off 36 balls before falling in the ninth over. Pretorius and Sinethemba Qeshile (46) had shared a 112-run opening stand, and Dewald Brevis added 33 as the Titans built a platform that the 19th over then disrupted.

A record in a losing cause

KZN Inland could not turn the collapse into a win. Chasing 205, they finished on 183 for 6, with Laycock contributing an unbeaten 31 with the bat. The Titans won by 21 runs, which extended their unbeaten run in the competition to six matches at the top of the table.
