Abhishek's blitz, then a collapse
Abhishek struck 69 off 30 balls at a strike rate of 230 before he was caught and bowled by Shamar Springer. Ishan Kishan added 37 off 18 and Tilak Varma 28 off 16, and India raced to 115 for 1 in 8.1 overs. Then the innings lost its shape, slipping to 135 for 5, and India were bowled out for 223. Roston Chase took 2 for 38 for West Indies.
Arshdeep and the yorkers close it out
Arshdeep removed Shai Hope cheaply with the new ball, and Axar Patel stalled the chase in the middle overs after a poor game in Ranchi, where he went for 63 in 3.3 overs without a wicket. Shimron Hetmyer made 43, but West Indies could not keep up. There was no dew, so Arshdeep and Prince Yadav's yorkers closed the game out.
- First defence of the tour: this was India's first successfully defended total in six white-ball games on this tour.
- Low bounce: the Indore pitch made big hitting difficult, and apart from Abhishek both sides went at roughly ten an over.
- Series: India lead 2-1.
