How a run works

The full rules
1Spin a squadThe board lands on a real team-season, like Mumbai Indians 2019 or Deccan Chargers 2009. There are 156 of them, every season from 2008 to 2025.
2Pick one playerFrom that exact season's squad, and only that one. Eleven spins, four overseas players at most, and 3, 1 or 0 re-spins on Easy, Medium or Hard. Hard hides the ratings.
3Play the seasonFourteen league games, then the playoffs, with the final played ball by ball. Top four go through. Every result reproduces from its seed.

What is BuildXI?

BuildXI is a free IPL draft game. You spin real IPL squads from 2008 to 2025, pick one player from each, and try to go 14–0. No sign-up.

How does the IPL draft work in BuildXI?

You get eleven spins. Each one lands on a real team-season squad, and you pick exactly one player from it. Fill your XI with at most four overseas, then play a full simulated season. About 3 minutes.

Is BuildXI free?

Yes. BuildXI is free to play in the browser, with no entry fee and nothing to buy.

Do I need to sign up to play?

No. There is no account and no sign-up. Open buildxi.in and your first spin is one tap away. A name is only asked for if you want it on the leaderboard.

What does 14–0 mean?

14–0 means winning all fourteen league games of an IPL season and losing none. It is the hardest result in BuildXI and ranks above everything else on the leaderboard.

Can I draft an all-time IPL XI?

Yes. Every IPL squad from 2008 to 2025 is in the game, so one draft can put Malinga's 2011 season beside Gill's 2023 one. What you get depends on where your eleven spins land.

Is there a free IPL draft game I can play online?

Yes. BuildXI is a free IPL draft game with no sign-up. You play it in the browser at buildxi.in, and the IPL draft simulator page explains how a draft works.
